13.11 Driving on Company Business

Before using a personal or rental vehicle for work-related purposes, you must demonstrate that you have a valid driver’s license and adequate personal automobile insurance coverage that meets or exceeds the minimum insurance requirements for the state you are driving in. If you rent a vehicle, you must also contract for the additional automobile insurance provided by the rental car company; this additional expense will be reimbursed to you with the rental cost.

**Verification of Management Staff Driving History and Automobile Insurance Coverage**

Management employees must have a valid driver’s license and safe driving history. We complete verification of each management employee’s driving history and valid driver’s license upon hire or promotion to a management position, and annually thereafter. If the employee does not hold a valid driver’s license, they will not be permitted to drive on company business.

If the employee has two or more low- to moderate-risk moving violations within the past two years, we require completion of a free online Driver Safety course and improvement of their driving performance. Employees who do not complete this course as required will not be permitted to drive on company business.
