4.2 Background Investigations, Sexual Abuse/Molestation Awareness, & Tuberculosis Testing

Our students’ safety is a primary concern at Play-Well. As a result, we conduct pre-employment background investigations on all of our employees. These investigations can include reference checks, fingerprinting to access conviction records, social security validation, driving record through the Department of Motor Vehicles, credit check, state sexual offenders’ databases and various other methods that may vary state by state.

We also require each employee to complete training in Sexual Abuse and Molestation (SAM) awareness and provide each employee with an information document that outlines our policies and procedures on prevention and reporting requirements. This training must be completed before you begin to do any work for the company.

Some employees may be required to be tested for tuberculosis exposure and provide a negative result from a clinic or physician to their supervisor.

Continued employment with Play-Well is contingent upon the cleared results of the background check, completion of the SAM training, and tuberculosis testing if required by their manager. Background check information is maintained in a secured file, separate from the employees' personnel files.

If you are arrested or charged with a crime during your employment, you are required to report the arrest to your manager immediately. Depending on the nature of the charge, you may be placed on suspension, pending the outcome of the case, and a decision will be made about the continuation of your employment once the case is resolved.
