10.7 Paid Family Leave – New York (NY PFL)

The New York Paid Family Leave (NY PFL) is a state benefits program that provides eligible employees with paid leave after a child’s birth, adoption, foster placement in your home, or to care for a close relative with a serious health condition, or family situation that arises when a spouse, domestic partner, child, or parent is deployed abroad on active military service or has been notified of an impending military deployment abroad.. Eligible employees can receive up to 50% of their average weekly wages for up to 8 weeks, job protection upon return from Paid Family Leave; and continuation of health insurance while out on Paid Family Leave. When you want to take Paid Family Leave, you must notify Human Resources at least 30 days before your leave will start, if it’s foreseeable, to begin your application for this benefit.
